Laurie Lonsdale, born June 16th, 1963 in Toronto, is an author, songwriter and journalist, who has written for such magazines as 'Writer's Journal', 'Bloom', 'Moxie', 'Divorce Mag', 'Toronto Exclusive', and even 'The Enquirer'. Among her published credits she counts various short stories penned for 'Chicken Soup for the Soul', and she is the author of five fiction novels. Her thrillers, aimed at a female audience, include 'Chasing Rainbows', 'Neon Nights', 'Hollywood Blues', 'Four of Hearts', and 'Wild Side', a rock 'n' roll adventure that was derived from observations made while working in concert promo in the late 80's/early 90's, and was voted among the top ten fiction novels of 2004 in an international readers' poll. The upcoming re-release of the book with Whiskey Creek Press will be accompanied by a 12-song CD, which was inspired by the story and was co-written by Lonsdale and award-winning vocalist Heidi Propp. While Laurie waits for her children's books to make their debut with Journey Stone Creations in the summer of 2008, she is freelancing for various publications and is working on her sixth novel. She also continues to dabble in music, providing lyrics and PR for select Toronto-area bands. As a member of SOCAN and ASCAP, Laurie enjoys participating in music conferences as well as promoting her written works. Between appearances, her novels can be found at select bookstores and libraries, and at all on-line bookstores, including Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, and BooksaMillion.com.
